The first ever android smartphone was the HTC Dream(G1) which was released on October 22, 2008 . Since its release it has powered billions of devices. Android has seen numerous updates which have incrementally improved the operating system, adding new features and fixing bugs in previous releases. The first version of was named android 1.5 "Cupcake".The tradition of naming android versions derived from sugary treats still continues till this date making android 6.0 "marshmallow" .
As android has matured marvelously it has fixed lots of bugs and issues that it had in its previous versions android has matured enough to make it a top notch OS .Hoping to see further improvements on the android eco system in the near future .
